 Here is Ronda´s project.

The goal is to collect 20cm x 20cm patches from around the globe. They will be joined into a massive quilt and incorporate women´s stories about heart health and raise awareness about the sadly misogynistic information about the symptoms.

 Heart problems in women can be misdiagnosed or even worse, dismissed.

This project encourages you to inform yourself.

History.

I met first met Ronda in person at the end of 2023.

I have always joked that she is my colourful, short-armed body double. She is driven to create. This is so relatable to me and along with other members of the sewing community I absolutely love the hive mind and idea ping-pong of the makers community.

Ronda started to feel very tired and a routine check up revealed an aortic aneurysm.

It seemed to come out of nowhere.

Ronda has dealt with the initial shock of her diagnosis by spreading the word.

She has featured on the seworganisedstyle podcast. 

How to make your patch.

The only guideline is to create a patch 20cm x 20cm.

 It can be pieced, appliqued, painted or all of the above and included a name or initial.

A short note about the  named person should be included.

Why am I writing this post?

I love the idea and would like to support it.

 I have just sent some patches made by local makers to Ronda and am happy to do it again.

The individual stories are moving and full of love for those who have passed or who are dealing with heart problems.

Post to Australia can be pricey.

 I am happy to forward them too The next lot will go to Oz mid November.
